About Dr. Tavarez
Dr. Chantal Tavarez was born and raised in Santiago, Dominican Republic, where she graduated cum laude from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in 2011.
After moving to the United States, she completed a rigorous three-year international dentistry program at Columbia University in New York City, with clinical rotations at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital from 2015 to 2018.
Dr. Tavarez is known for her gentle and caring approach. She values patient comfort and believes that healthy, functional oral hygiene supports overall wellness. Her practice philosophy centers on professionalism, compassion, and personalized care.
When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Tavarez is an advocate for a healthy and active lifestyle. She enjoys spending time in nature and exercising to stay grounded. A true enthusiast of culture and flavor, she also loves exploring new cuisines. Whether she is volunteering her time or trying a new dish, she approaches life with the same curiosity and dedication she brings to her practice.

Dr. Tavarez’s passion for dentistry is deeply personal. Having spent significant time in the dental chair as a child, she discovered early on that she was never afraid—a unique perspective that ultimately inspired her career. Today, she is dedicated to helping her patients overcome their own dental fears and anxieties. She strives to create a sense of calm, build trust, and show her patients that dentistry does not have to be intimidating. Her goal is to transform dental care into a positive, comfortable, and confidence-building experience.

Beyond the clinic, Dr. Tavarez maintains a strong presence in the wider dental community through active membership in the American Dental Association (ADA), the New York State Dental Association (NYSDA), and the Ninth District Dental Association. She also dedicates significant time to humanitarian stewardship, currently serving as a Board Member for Somos Amigos Medical Missions. Through this role, she helps guide a non-profit organization that has spent over 28 years delivering vital healthcare to remote communities in the Dominican Republic.
